what were some film scenes that pleased or horrified you so much that they stayed vivid in your memory for a long time?
the one i always recall is the scene where anthony hopkins (playing as hannibal lector) lobotomised ray liotta (paul krendler) cutting off pieces of his brain and giving them to him to eat.
he also took some of liotta's cooked brain in a plane and gave them to an unsuspecting passenger boy sitting next to him to eat.
Schindler's List where the 'girl in the red coat' was lyinng on the cart load of bodies at the concentration camp.
Also the scene when Schindler's employees were made to line up by the German army and the one armed press-operator was shot because the officer thought he was of no use.
a few on the board have mentioned they'd like to visit this great land one day so i thought it was about time i wet your appetite with a few pics...careful that it doesn't give you tas-mania (lol, bad play on words ;) enjoy !

this might sound stupid to some of you... and i hope that i do not offend anyone that is a member or regular attender of a charasmatic church... but i am really confused by them.
i grew up in a nondenominational christian church... it is basically your typical nondenominational, protestant church.
the thing is, most members of charasmatic churches that i have talked to also told me that a true christian must be "baptized in the holy spirit" according to their definition of being "baptized in the holy spirit"... and if you aren't, you're not really a christian and not really "saved.".
Baptism in the Spirit doesn't = praying in tongues etc!
I too have been accused of 'not being saved' both because of not praying in tongues etc and also because I've not been baptised by full immersion! Double whammy!!!!
The way I see it is that God will not force a 'supernatural' gift (eg tongues) upon you if He knows you aren't comfortable with it. I also think that sometimes the 'natural' gifts (eg teaching, encouragement) are ignored and/or not attributed to God - and yet they are mentioned in Paul's numerous gift lists.

not only did i see a car full of jws at home depot running out and targeting unsuspecting victims before they walked in the store, but when i reached my destination (our rental property) there were two jws at the door.
the two at the door only said hello to me and my husband and it probably had something to do with our dog growling at them.

Like Gregor says - slug and snail bait is often forgotten to be poisonous. It's the same product as the 'common' rat poison, based on warfarin.
I don't know what the rat situation is elsewhere but in the UK, rats are developing some degree of immunity to the most common baits or at the very least have learnt to avoid them.

Somewhere warm! I'd love to go back to Israel for a long stay, or Australia. Maybe a warm part of the USA.
Reading through everyone's replies, maybe we could just arrange a massive house swap between us - least you'd only have to pay for flights and food then!

hamas has dismissed a message by al-qaeda number two ayman al-zawahiri urging the palestinian militant group never to make peace with israel.
I hope al-qaeda don't start causing problems for the Palestinians.
I sincerely hope that the Palestinians can make a real go at sorting out their problems especially now that the eyes of the international community are on them and that they have some chance of financial/technical support to do it.
I feel it's gonna be a long, hard road for them though... *sigh*

I have caller ID because my phone number is only one digit different to one of the biggest taxi firms in town
If the callers number is withheld, unavailable or 'international' my caller display indicates this so I don't answer these either.
We also have Telephone Preference Service where you can get your phone number barred from call centre lists/computers.
